MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief PGen. Guillermo Eleazar on Sunday ordered its regional police to conduct an investigation on the death of a fraternity leader who was shot dead in Cebu City.
“I have ordered the Cebu City Police to look into possible angles in the killing of Richard Buscaino, Akhro fraternity Central Visayas chapter president and former Barangay Calamba, Cebu City councilor,” PGen Eleazar said.
Buscaino succumbed to four gunshot wounds on his body after being gunned down by unidentified men.
According to the PNP, Buscaino had received threats to his life, prior to his death, and even survived an attack last 2018.
Authorities said Buscaino was driving toward the interior section of Barangay Labangon when the suspects attacked him. Law enforcers recovered six empty shells from an unidentified gun at the crime scene.
Eleazar then urged those who have information about the incident to help authorities in resolving the case.
“Nananawagan din tayo sa mga nakasaksi sa insidente o kaya’y may hawak na impormasyon sa pangyayari na makipagtulungan sa kapulisan para sa agarang ikalulutas ng kaso at ikadarakip ng mga salarin,” Eleazar said.
(We also call on witnesses or those who have information on the incident to cooperate with the police for the immediate resolution of the case and the arrest of the perpetrators.)
