MANILA, Philippines — The United States Embassy in the Philippines is inviting Filipino senior high school students interested to study in the US to attend its annual College Application Drive on Friday.

The annual drive called “EducationUSA” will be held virtually at 7:15 p.m., October 29.

According to the US embassy, students interested in studying in the United States will have the opportunity to seek free guidance on their college applications and requirements during the program.

“Education advisors, U.S. university alumni, and other experts will provide real-time college advising on Zoom during the application drive,” said the embassy in a statement.

“Parents and school administrators are also welcome to join,” it added.

The embassy said the drive provides free advising services to students in more than 170 countries and offers resources and tools “to help navigate the five steps to U.S. study: researching schools, identifying financial aid opportunities, completing applications, obtaining a student visa, and preparing for departure.”

The EducationUSA, however, does not offer scholarships but can assist students in identifying scholarship and financial assistance opportunities, as well as narrowing their options, defining their priorities, and planning their college careers in the 4,700 accredited higher education institutions in the US.

The embassy said the EducationUSA advisers have received P115 million or $2.3 million worth of financial aid from accredited U.S. higher education institutions, since 2019.
