THE Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), together with the City Government of Manila, has released the monthly cash allowances of its sophomore up to senior students for September to November 2021.
The P1,000 monthly aid under the social amelioration program (SAP) for students was released through LandBank cash cards previously distributed to enrollees who are bona fide residents of the City of Manila.
Said bank has credited the amounts to the cash cards of more than 6,900 students on November 10, which amounted to more than P20 million.
Meanwhile, SAP allowances of freshmen students will be released upon completion of the validation process of the residency and voter’s status of each. The distribution of cash cards is tentatively set during the first half of December 2021.
“We thank the City Government of Manila for its continued assistance to PLM students through the SAP, especially during this challenging period of distance learning,” PLM President Emmanuel Leyco said. “These student benefits would be great help to them in improving their connectivity and later on, in preparing for the gradual resumption of face-to-face classes.”
The Manila City government’s SAP provides direct aid to students who are able to present proof of residence in the city. This is different from the national government’s household-based SAP during the lockdown period.
Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso signed the release of P44.62 million in allowances for a total of 11,155 PLM students on October 26, which cover payouts from September to December 2021.
The financial aid for December will be released next month, also through direct debit to existing SAP accounts. Upperclassmen who are facing issues with their SAP records, as well as those with unclaimed or lost LandBank cards, are currently undergoing validation.
